The other day, for the heads of legal services of the services, individual branches of the armed forces (forces) and other representatives of the legal services of the Armed Forces of Ukraine two interrelated trainings were held on compliance with international humanitarian law and the specifics of the exercise of the rights and freedoms of military personnel under the legal regime of martial law.

The event was held with the support of the Geneva Center for Security Sector Governance (DCAF) under the overall coordination of the Head of the Central Legal Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - Head of the Legal Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel of Justice Bohdan Shamray.

During the trainings, topical issues of legal support for the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under martial law were discussed and a constructive exchange of experience was held between all participants of the event. Representatives of the NGO “League of Officers” also took an active part in the practical discussions, presenting a number of topical speeches on specific topics.

We would like to remind you that the DCAF project activity on in-depth study of IHL norms by personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is carried out in accordance with the decision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrsky. The executive partner in the implementation of this project is the NGO “League of Officers”, which has a Memorandum of Cooperation concluded with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
